The evaluation framework for multiple and overlapping traumas in symbiotic systems (or MOTiSS evaluation framework) builds into evaluation research an ecological-symbolic framework that accounts for the symbiotic relationships between people, organizations, and their physical environments and the interpretive lenses that guide decision-making.
The purpose of the MOTiSS evaluation framework is to acknowledge, document, measure, and mitigate the impact of trauma, disaster, and distress on the implementation of programs and program outcomes. By bringing to the surface traditionally embedded institutional components of program design for examination, reflection, and interrogation, MOTiSS evaluation helps organizations to efficiently use resources and opportunities to move forward after particularly difficult times.
